Cisco Acquires AI Security Sta...The acquisition aims to integrate Robust Intelligence’s advanced AI security capabilities into Cisco's existing security and networking products
Cisco, a global leader in networking and cybersecurity, is acquiring Robust Intelligence, a San Francisco-based startup specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) security solutions. The acquisition aims to integrate Robust Intelligence’s advanced AI security capabilities into Cisco's existing security and networking products, bolstering the company’s Security Cloud offerings.
An all-purpose platform designed to safeguard AI models from creation to production has been developed by Robust Intelligence. The platform’s advanced automation and risk mitigation features enable organizations to securely deploy AI applications while maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards. Notably, Robust Intelligence’s client roster includes major players like Cisco, Deloitte, NEC, MongoDB, CrowdStrike, Hitachi, IBM, and NTT Data. Although the financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, the move aligns with Cisco’s broader strategy to advance its AI innovation capabilities. In June, Cisco launched a $1 billion fund through its venture arm, Cisco Investments, to invest in AI startups, with Robust Intelligence being a key addition.
Tom Gillis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco's Security Business Group, emphasized that the acquisition will enable Cisco to integrate advanced AI security processing seamlessly into its products. Yaron Singer, CEO of Robust Intelligence, expressed excitement about the role his company’s platform will play in shaping the future of Cisco’s Security Cloud. This acquisition follows Cisco’s recent $28 billion purchase of AI and cybersecurity specialist Splunk, further solidifying its position in the AI-driven enterprise security market.
