The project is expected to complete within 18 months, and it aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission

Gensol Engineering Limited and Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd. have secured a ₹164 crore agreement to establish India’s first Bio-Hydrogen initiative. The consortium, which was the lowest bidder, will control the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the project. This environmental friendly initiative aims to convert 25 tons of bio-waste into 1 ton of hydrogen per day, to transform India as the leader of the green hydrogen revolution.

The project is expected to complete within 18 months, and it aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to decrease carbon emissions and expedite the transition to renewable energy sources. An highlight of this initiative is the partnership with Westinghouse, USA, whose patented Pre-Gasification Plasma Induced Radiant Energy-undefinedd Gasification System (GH2-PREGS) technology will be utilized to maximize efficiency and output. Anmol Singh Jaggi, Chairman and Managing Director of Gensol Engineering Ltd., voiced his optimism for the project, underscoring it as an example of the company’s dedication to innovation in renewable energy. Chirag Kotecha, Whole-time Director of Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd. described the project as a major step in India’s energy transition efforts.

This Bio-Hydrogen project marks a pivotal milestone in India’s journey toward a greener future, with Gensol and Matrix poised to lead further ventures into Green Steel and Green Ammonia production.
