Adani Group and Google Partner...The project is expected to officially start its operations in the third quarter of 2025
The Adani Group and Google have announced a new partnership focused on promoting sustainability and sustainable energy in India. As part of this partnership, Adani Group will provide renewable energy from a solar-wind hybrid plant situated in Khavda, Gujarat, which is one of the largest renewable energy facilities in the world. The project is expected to officially start its operations in the third quarter of 2025.
With its proven experience in renewable energy projects, Adani Group is set to provide personalized energy solutions to its commercial and industrial (C&I) clients. This initiative helps industries in lowering their carbon footprints while also addressing the world's expanding energy needs. Moreover, Adani's broader goal of decarbonizing industrial sectors is supported by its strategic focus on expanding in the merchant and C&I segments. Google views this partnership to be in line with its global objective of running entirely on carbon-free energy. This partnership is a crucial step toward the tech giant's 2030 goal of reducing its total emissions from Scope 1, 2, and 3 by 50%.
A division of Adani Green Energy Ltd. signed a power consumption contract earlier this week to provide green energy to a commercial customer. 61.4 megawatts of power from the Khavda project will be supplied by Adani Renewable Energy Three Ltd. This partnership represents a critical turning point in Google's environmental efforts and India's shift to sustainable energy.
