Heineken Partners with Royal H...Heineken's energy systems will be redesigned by Royal HaskoningDHV, who will also lead the company's shift to renewable energy sources and minimize energy consumption
To hasten the company's aim of transitioning to net zero emissions, Heineken has partnered with Royal HaskoningDHV, NIRAS, and Arcadis. The partnership's main objective is to fulfill the 2030 target by lowering Heineken's emissions from Scope 1 and 2, focusing on its global production sites.
Royal HaskoningDHV will develop Heineken's energy systems and oversee the company's shift to renewable energy sources and energy conservation. Based on the needs and resources for energy in each brewery, the company will create unique solutions. With a longtime collaboration dating back to 1886, Sabine Bink, worldwide director for industry and buildings at Royal HaskoningDHV, expressed excitement about assisting Heineken's sustainability efforts. She also noted that this partnership has given them extensive understanding of Heineken's operations. Heineken has previously worked with Siemens to reduce emissions by 50% by 2025, making major achievements in this area. The next stage of Heineken's aim to switch to renewable energy sources and decarbonize its brewing process is represented by this new partnership.
Magne Setnes, Heineken's chief supply chain officer, says that reaching net zero emissions rapidly requires working with technical specialists like Royal HaskoningDHV, NIRAS, and Arcadis. This is in line with the larger sustainability initiatives of the global food and beverage industry, although tackling Scope 3 emissions is still a major obstacle to reaching complete sustainability. The agreement underscores Heineken's continued dedication to lessening its environmental impact and assisting the beverage industry in making the switch to sustainable practices.
