Tozero Ignites Battery Recycli...Tozero stands out in a "blue ocean market" that is ready for innovation because to its efficient and lean technologies
Tozero, a visionary Munich-based firm, has brought up $11.7 million in seed capital to expand its creative battery recycling solutions as the demand for lithium rises internationally. With this substantial investment, Tozero will be able to construct its first large-scale facility, increasing its ability to recover vital components from lithium-ion batteries.
In addition to a pilot plant now handling nine tons of battery waste every day, Tozero hopes to quickly expand operations. Dr. Sarah Fleischer, co-founder and CEO, underscored the effectiveness of their water-based carbonation recovery technology, which lowers emissions by 70% when compared to lithium mining and is also more environmentally conscious than conventional techniques. Given that Europe currently imports more than 97% of its lithium carbonate, this strategy places Tozero as a key participant in the continent's search for sustainable lithium sourcing. With peers spending more for similar endeavors, Tozero stands out in a "blue ocean market" that is ready for innovation because to its efficient and lean technologies. Nordic Ninja led the seed round, while prominent investors including In-Q-Tel and Honda also participated. The future of battery recycling may be shaped by Tozero's dedication to sustainable techniques as the electrification race intensifies.
