Circular Services has broken ground on a 120,000-square-foot material recovery facility in Frisco, Texas, set to enhance recycling capabilities and drive sustainable waste management by 2026.

Circular Services has officially broken ground on a state-of-the-art material recovery facility (MRF) in Frisco, Texas, marking a major investment in sustainable waste management. Spanning 120,000 square feet, the facility will be operated by Balcones Recycling and is projected to begin operations by the spring of 2026. The new MRF is designed to process a broad range of recyclable materials with cutting-edge sorting and recovery technologies, significantly improving waste diversion rates in the region. The investment aligns with growing demand for efficient recycling infrastructure as municipalities and businesses face increased regulatory and consumer pressures to adopt sustainable waste strategies. Texas, one of the fastest-growing states in the U.S., has seen rising waste generation, amplifying the need for scalable recycling solutions. The Frisco MRF will help alleviate landfill dependency by optimizing material recovery and ensuring high-quality recyclables are reintroduced into supply chains. Beyond environmental benefits, the facility is expected to generate local job opportunities and contribute to Texas’ circular economy. By strengthening regional recycling capabilities, Circular Services is positioning itself at the forefront of a market shift favoring closed-loop waste systems.

The facility is expected to integrate AI-powered sorting systems and robotics to enhance efficiency and material purity. These innovations will reduce contamination, improve the value of recycled materials, and support the broader goal of creating a more resilient recycling ecosystem. Additionally, the facility will collaborate with local municipalities and businesses to drive education and participation in recycling programs, further reinforcing the economic and environmental advantages of a robust waste recovery infrastructure.

As waste management industries navigate tightening policies and heightened sustainability expectations, investments in advanced recycling infrastructure are becoming critical. Circular Services' Frisco MRF underscores a strategic move to future-proof waste operations and establishes long-term environmental and economic gains while setting a new benchmark for modern recycling facilities in Texas and beyond.
