Selenis Stays Committed to U.S. Textile Recycling Plans
The Silicon Review

Despite local challenges, Selenis assures that its textile recycling plant plans in Cedar Creek are progressing.

To advance textile recycling efforts in the U.S., the textile company Selenis has some innovative ideas to promote environmental sustainability. All stakeholders of the company have been assured by ImatosGil Group (IMG), the parent company of Selenis North America, about their plans to build a textile recycling plant in Cedar Creek, North Carolina.

This statement came shortly after the Mexican company Alpek announced it was closing its PET plastic recycling facility in the same area. Meanwhile, Selenis wants to reassure people that their initiative is still on schedule, even in light of recent difficulties in the local recycling sector. According to IMG and Selenis North America, their plans to build a new textile-to-textile recycling factory with their strategic partner Syre from Sweden are currently progressing as planned. The company reassures everyone that it is fully committed to its work in Cedar Creek and will continue to operate independently without any interruptions. It is actively moving forward with strong plans to grow and invest in the area through a comprehensive development strategy. The Fayetteville, North Carolina-based company stated that its activities at this region will not be impacted by Alpek's declaration.

This investment initiative highlights our commitment to providing our customers with innovative specialty polyesters and to positively impacting the local economy and community," the company adds. They stated that Cedar Creek plays a key role in their North American operations and that they have faith in its ability to become a major manufacturing center. The international polyester and copolyester polymer manufacturer Selenis produces resins with up to 50% recycled content and provides goods that are completely recyclable through the PET stream.
