Oracle Achieves DISA IL5, FedRAMP High Authorizations for GenAI and Exadata

Oracle announced new DISA Impact Level 5 and FedRAMP High authorizations for OCI Generative AI and Exadata Cloud@Customer, strengthening its position in the lucrative U.S. public sector market.

Oracle has achieved new Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Impact Level 5 and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) High authorizations for key Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services, including OCI Generative AI and Exadata Cloud@Customer. The approvals enable U.S. government agencies, including defense and intelligence organizations, to deploy Oracle's advanced AI and cloud technologies while adhering to the federal government's strictest security and compliance standards.

The DISA Impact Level 5 authorization is particularly significant, as it permits the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and is required for Department of Defense missions. The FedRAMP High designation aligns with the stringent security requirements for federal agencies handling sensitive, mission-critical data. With these authorizations, Oracle can now offer its generative AI capabilities and high-performance Exadata database services to government customers operating in highly regulated environments.

This move strengthens Oracle's competitive position in the public sector cloud market, where security and compliance are paramount. Government agencies can now leverage OCI's AI services to modernize systems while maintaining full compliance, and deploy Exadata Cloud@Customer to run Oracle databases on dedicated infrastructure within their own data centers. The authorizations follow Oracle's recent announcement of plans to raise $45-$50 billion in 2026 to expand OCI capacity, signaling aggressive investment in its cloud and AI infrastructure.
