The Chicago Cubs hammered Dodgers All-Star Justin Wrobleski for seven runs and four home runs, handing Los Angeles a 10-5 loss and extending their losing streak to a season-high tying four games.

The Los Angeles Dodgers' losing streak has stretched to four games after a 10-5 defeat to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, with All-Star left-hander Justin Wrobleski enduring a second consecutive rough start.

"It just seemed like they were on everything," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "Some balls that were executed decently, they still took good swings, and when he made good pitches, they spoiled. And when he did make mistakes, it just seemed like they went out of the ballpark."

Wrobleski was rocked for seven earned runs and four home runs over 4β…“ innings, tying his season high for runs allowed. The Cubs scored runs in each of the first three innings, with Seiya Suzuki, Kevin Alcántara, Carson Kelly, and Michael Busch all going deep against the left-hander.

"Overall, just didn't throw the ball well enough today, obviously," Wrobleski said. "I've been pretty frustrated these last two. So just continuing to work on things, get better and hopefully come back out and go on a run here and have a nice little scoreless streak."

The Dodgers had jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, with Tommy Edman's three-run homer off Cubs starter Matthew Boyd. However, Boyd settled in after that, and the Cubs' offense took over.

"This is a playoff-contending team," Roberts said of the Cubs before the game. "We've got to play well. Like I said [Sunday], we got outplayed. Outcompeted against. So we need to play better. We're going to play better this series. I don't know the results, but we will play with more urgency."

The loss overshadowed the Dodgers' splashy trade-deadline acquisitions, which included two-time CY Young winner Tarik Skubal, catcher Ben Rortvedt, and All-Star pitcher Kris Bubic. The Dodgers (69-44) now face increased pressure to halt their slide as the Cubs (64-49) continue their push for the playoffs.

Here is the question this loss raises. Justin Wrobleski has been rocked for four home runs in two straight starts, and the Dodgers' losing streak has reached four games. When a contending team hits a rough patch, how quickly can they turn things around?

As the Dodgers look to bounce back, The Silicon Review asks a final question. When the trade deadline additions haven't yet reversed the momentum, what will it take for Los Angeles to regain its winning form?
