“Our mission is to provide peace of mind to the global business community through simple and innovative emerging intelligent technologies to safeguard their secrets.”

Software-as-a-Service(SaaS) is a software distribution model in which application is hosted by a vendor or by a service provider and the vendor made it available to the client over a network. Rapidly changing customer requirements and accelerating technological advancements are fueling the growth of new generations of on-demand SaaS solutions.

Adaptus, LLC is a SaaS provider focused on emerging technologies specializing in customizable cybersecurity for business management applications such as Salesforce, Box.com, Sharefile, Office 365 OneDrive, Mulesoft, Boomi, etc. The company’s mission is to provide peace of mind to the global business community through simple and innovative emerging intelligent technologies to safeguard their secrets.

Adaptus was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas.

In Conversation with Matt Meyers, Managing Partner Adaptus

Q. What is the reason behind the genesis of Adaptus?

The founders of Adaptus previously worked as Salesforce consultants for Fortune 500 companies. After hearing customers ask for virus scanning capabilities in Salesforce repeatedly, they decided to help fill the gap by creating EZProtect®. We created EZProtect to solve problems – initially for Salesforce, but that has recently expanded outside of the Salesforce echo-sphere. As technical professionals working with the deep architecture of applications like Salesforce, they were able to identify areas needing improvement quickly and had the technical knowledge to do it.

Q. ‘A well-defined mission and vision is the secret behind the success of many firms.’ What is your company’s M&V statement?

Our mission is to provide peace of mind to the global business community through simple and innovative emerging technologies to safeguard their secrets. In some cases, we have government organizations collecting an average of 65,000 attachments per month via public websites and depositing directly into Salesforce – all of which are bypassing their corporate network gateways to enter the environment. It makes us happy knowing organizations are protected and prevented from passing along malicious content to others.

Q. How successful was your first project rollout? Please share the experience.

We’re happy to report that the release of EZProtect was met with great enthusiasm from large-enterprises and government entities around the globe. Cybersecurity for Salesforce is confusing and complicated as most Salesforce architects and security teams are not trained about best practices for attachments within their environments, so once they were made aware; it was an easy conversion for them.

Education and awareness is a huge part of this, but we’re proud to say EZProtect led the market as the first solution available and continues to lead against a large cybersecurity firm. Because Adaptus is a startup, there have been challenges going to market without the type of funding behind us that our main competitor has, but our deep product knowledge of Salesforce has quickly elevated us within the marketplace as the “go-to” solution which has made market adoption easier.

Q. What are the factors that make your company stand out from the competition?

We are a lean intentionally. We do not have a brick-and-mortar office — in the current business climate, there’s no reason for one. Our team works remotely around the globe with the project management philosophy focusing on deliverables. Our infrastructure is low-cost which enables us to quickly stand up a new region in less than a day compared to other larger companies where it can take weeks to do the same.

Moreover, we’re poised for international growth and diversity easily and believe that flexibility drives innovation and supports a happy workspace. We’re able to respond to our customers’ needs quickly and effectively and understand the value of being adaptable. Many global organizations are not able to do this, including our competitors. We also think big and create solutions that are highly scalable for large enterprises and provide centralized management – we think ahead.

Q. Customer service varies, but companies can still be successful. How do you maintain your customers’ trust and loyalty?

This is a top priority for us. We understand it’s imperative to provide excellent customer service, and we make a consistent effort to actively communicate with our customers regularly and keep them informed of product development, as well as receive input. Collaboration is very important to us and we truly value their input. This, combined with our ongoing guidance of best practices within the Salesforce ecosystem, helps them realize we’re here to help.

Q. Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

Given our rate of growth, I am expecting Adaptus to continue to dominate the Salesforce cybersecurity market and expand into the cloud-based cybersecurity mainstream with other tools like Dropbox, Box.com, Mulesoft, etc. Right now, our market penetration is not as deep as we’d like solely based on a lack of awareness and education. We have the initiative to change that which will drive a much higher adoption rate for both the Salesforce and cloud-based application markets. We’re excited about where the EZProtect “real-time” On-Demand Scanner/API is bringing us and look forward to growing outside of Salesforce.
