Interview Highlights

Q. What groundbreaking and proactive methodology does Coherent Educational Solutions implement to end social injustice for underserved, neglected, and marginalized students?

It isn't groundbreaking – it is grounded in what educational psychology already knows about learning as a volitional and natural process. What is valuable about the Coherent Educational Solutions approach is we've connected critical dots to create a Human Learning System with the learner in the center of the learning equation: the learner and their context + the content and its relevance to each learner + the teacher as a facilitator of learning = learning as an intrinsically motivated action.

Our learning environments are designed to promote self-directed and self-regulated learning, which activates each learner's energy to engage and succeed. Teachers facilitate the actions of learning; they co-create inviting environments in which a learner finds value and personal relevance.

Q. How do Coherent-built solutions transform and accelerate student learning?

Students learn, people learn, everyone learns, no matter what. You are learning right now! Coherent Educational Solutions programs emphasize the quality of learning and the conditions of learning, making our schools and programs interactive and exciting spaces for all learners.

I don't think learning can be "accelerated." A child learns to walk when they are ready and when there are ample opportunities in their environment. Learning can't be rushed or hurried. Coherent Educational Solutions has reimagined the learning environment to the learning environment with each learner's context, so that learning happens more smoothly and with less stress. We're removing barriers in the learning environment.

Q. What new endeavors is Coherent currently undertaking?

We are working with Maker's Empire in Australia on a project to ease the transition for Ukrainian youth who had to leave their home country. What we're developing helps these youth adjust to their new surroundings with increased awareness and access to their resilience and intrapersonal skills.

Q. How skilled is the Coherent team of experts? And how do they bring value to the company?

Highly skilled! The Coherent Educational Solutions core team has over 300 years of combined experience in all facets of education. These facets include school development from the ground up, human and leadership development of teachers, parents, and school staff, curriculum development and facilitation from the early years through the MA level, and designing learning environments that are engaging, hands-on, interactive, and learner-centric. More importantly, we see the people we're working with as partners with unique and valuable contributions to the work of growing humans.

Q. No doubt Coherent is charting new territories in this segment. Given how frequently circumstances change, what plans for transformation are you pursuing to remain relevant now and in the future?

Coherent Educational Solutions' work and approach to developing curricula and learning environments are grounded in four cornerstones: the dignity of diversity and inclusion, metacognition for self-regulated learning, self-mastery through resilience and awareness, and educational equity.
