“We are the leading innovator of solutions that reduce the amount of hardware, time and labor required to support desktop virtualization platforms”: FSLogix

thesiliconreview kevin goodman founder ceo fslogix 2017Today, an increase in the number of datacenter resources and solutions from networking to storage offers a wide array of sometimes confusing choices. In the case of desktop virtualization, more efficient virtualization architectures and the proliferation of new end-user devices (smart phones, tablets, etc.) are fueling enterprise interest, providing an array of choices, and setting the stage for wider adoption. Desktop virtualization centralizes the desktop environment to enable simpler, more cost-effective management that significantly reduces the total cost of ownership TCO over traditional approaches to managing desktops. It represents a considerable resource because it offers a new standard for accessing desktops. Earlier virtualization models were based on the technology’s limitations in regards to where and how users could gain computing access. This has given way to the current definition in which the needs of users define the processing approach, no matter where they are or the device being used.

FSLogix: Providing Cloud Native Solutions for Virtual Desktops

FSLogix is the leading innovator of solutions that reduce the amount of hardware, time and labor required to support desktop virtualization platforms. With implementations ranging from less than 1,000 to over 50,000 users, FSLogix Apps enhances the user experience while reducing support requirements for companies like Cottage Health, Philips (PHG), and City of London Police.

FSLogix is a Microsoft partner, Citrix Ready partner and Best of Synergy winner, and VMware Technical Alliance partner. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with offices in Salt Lake City, Colorado Springs, Boston, the Netherlands, and London, England.

Genesis of FSLogix

FSLogix was founded by four virtualization software industry experts, with a vision to make cloud desktop computing a ubiquitous and transformative technology. Although virtual desktops have been deployed in enterprise environments since the late 90’s, management costs and user performance issues have prevented widescale, global adoption. The FSLogix team launched the company to solve this problem with a leading technology, and a new, cloud native approach. In the last decade, the larger cloud computing market has experienced a massive shift to public cloud resources, providing the platform and timing for the end-user environment to finally transition.

FSLogix has expanded solely to meet the increasing global demand for its solutions, and many internal and external market factors have come together to make this the right time for what the firm is doing. The last two years felt like it is riding a wave, as its customers migrate traditionally in-house services like email, to cloud alternatives, like Office 365 – now Microsoft’s fastest growing commercial product in their history. Its products are a part of a larger solution set, all of which are evolving rapidly to meet this new model.

Ascent

Bringing brilliant, innovative, and passionate people together has been the foundation for the firm’s success. Especially in a small startup – you absolutely must build the best team you can afford. The next priority is to focus on the needs of the customer. Customer focus is more important than competition, more than market dynamics, or any other factor. FSLogix’ mission is to create customers who are delighted with its products.

Kevin Goodman, Founder and CEO

What was the experience with your initial product launch?

FSLogix Apps was released in 2013. The initial product helped to simplify the management of Citrix and Microsoft EUC infrastructure in the enterprise. The launch of its first project was a strong enough commercial success to continue with funding and develop a more in-depth product roadmap. It was highly validating to see the pent up demand for solutions in this area, and to confirm that enterprises could fundamentally change the way they do business if they could count on having this technology in their strategic toolkit.

FSLogix Apps is the indispensable software solution for anyone responsible for Citrix XenApp, Microsoft® RDS, VDI and physical environments. Brian Madden calls FSLogix Apps, “Windows application delivery done right!”

Implement FSLogix Apps to:

Enable Office 365 OneDrive for Business, Skype for Business, Windows Search Index

Enable Outlook’s Cached Exchange Mode in XenApp/XenDesktop and RDS/RDSH non-persistent and pooled VDI

Solve user profile issues and eliminate folder redirection in VDI/XenApp

Ensure license compliance for all users and all apps on all Windows infrastructure
