E-waste has become the talk of the town

United Nations University in a report suggests that the higher income is generated via electronic goods…how? It is because of the electronic waste seen across the country and apparently 63% of e-waste is witnessed across 12 countries. Various technological devices have become a part of every facet of our lives and many of them, like smart phones, receive constant iterative hardware updates. For a long time, the waste coming from wealthier countries would be recycled in Asian factories and receive a new lease on life.

Ruediger Kuehr, a co-author of the report and head of UNU's sustainable cycles program, said "For many countries that already lack infrastructure for environmentally sound e-waste management, the increasing volumes are a cause for concern."

Some researches after evaluation concludes that e-waste in China has doubled between 2010 and 2015 and Hong Kong generated around 21.7 kg per person as of 2015. Singapore and Taiwan created just over 19kg per person in 2015. Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Philippines were among the lowest e-waste generators, with an average of about 1kg per person.

But even if some steps could be taken for any changes despite that no great revolution can be expected as such.
