HBO's Succession and Last of U...HBO leads all networks in nominations with 127, followed by Netflix with 103.
With 27 nominations for the program's last season, the HBO drama "Succession," which chronicles a ruthless struggle for control of a family's media empire, leads the television Emmy nominations on Wednesday. The HBO show "The Last of Us," a dystopian video game adaption that received a second-best 24 Emmy nominations, and the two-time best drama winner "Succession" will compete for the award once more.
Alan Ruck, a supporting actor nomination for "Succession," expressed gratitude to the Television Academy for sending him and the other nominees out in style. In May, the four-season run of the program about the dysfunctional Roy family came to an end. With 127 total nominations, HBO, a division of Warner Bros Discovery (WBD.O), outperformed all other networks. 103 nominations went to Netflix.
For the title of best drama actor, "Succession" father Brian Cox will fight against two of his feuding TV sons, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin. Another Roy sibling, Sarah Snook, is thought to have the strongest chance of winning best drama actress. The roughly 20,000 members of the Television Academy will select the winners. The Emmy Awards ceremony was set to take place on September 18 and be televised live on the Fox (FOXA.O) broadcast network as of Wednesday.
