Hart emphasized the collaborative efforts between Aldi and Southeastern Grocers teams in propelling business growth for future success.

Aldi USA has outlined plans to expand its network by adding 800 stores by the conclusion of 2028, employing a blend of new openings and store conversions. The company intends to invest over $9 billion (€8.2 billion) within the next five years to facilitate this expansion into new locations across the US. The focus of expansion will particularly target the Northeast and Midwest regions, with nearly 330 stores projected to be added by the end of 2028. Additionally, Aldi USA aims to bolster its presence in the West, primarily in Southern California and Phoenix, while venturing into new markets such as Las Vegas. Jason Hart, CEO of Aldi USA, emphasized that customer demand drives their growth strategy, citing up to 40% savings on groceries as a compelling factor in attracting new customers and retaining existing ones.

Furthermore, Aldi disclosed its completion of the acquisition of Southeastern Grocers, including its Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket banners, to support its expansion in the Southeast. A substantial number of Winn-Dixie and Harveys supermarkets are slated to transition to the Aldi format gradually, with around 50 stores expected to commence the conversion process in the latter half of 2024. Additionally, Aldi announced its plans to construct and renovate stores with sustainable features such as energy-efficient LED lighting, eco-friendly refrigeration systems, and rooftop photovoltaic systems, among others.
