The United States firmly backs the Moldovan government's endeavors to fortify cyber and information security

Moldova and the United States are set to deepen their collaboration in the realm of information security and cyber defense. Today, Energy Minister Victor Parlicov sealed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Energy Ministry and the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), represented by CRDF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Mykhailo Verych. The memorandum underscores the commitment of both nations to bolstering the overall level of cyber defense, as well as the implementation and advancement of information and data security systems and the systems in which they operate. Additionally, the agreement outlines plans for enhanced cooperation in scientific and educational domains, mutual exchange of statistical and analytical data, and joint efforts in promoting information security among residents and civil servants.

Minister Victor Parlicov remarked during the signing event that the memorandum signifies a significant stride in promoting cooperation and knowledge exchange between Moldova and the United States in the realms of information and cyber security. Given the hybrid warfare the world has to confront, it's imperative to bolster the capacities of all state institutions in data protection and cyber attack prevention. The United States firmly backs the Moldovan government's endeavors to fortify cyber and information security. Last year, U.S. experts conducted a workshop aimed at training Moldovan civil servants on information protection measures, countering misinformation, and formulating public policies in the cyber security domain.
