Nike and Skims Delay NikeSKIMS Launch to Ensure Product Excellence
The Silicon Review
20 June, 2025

NikeSKIMS, a new women's activewear brand initially scheduled for spring 2025, has been postponed by Nike and Skims.

Fans of both brands eagerly awaited the release of NikeSKIMS, the collaborative women's activewear collection of Nike and Kim Kardashian's Skims. However, the launch has hit a pause to ensure that the new collection meets high expectations.

The much-anticipated NikeSKIMS, a new women's activewear collection from Nike and Kim Kardashian's Skims, has been postponed. It was designed to help Nike compete with companies like Lululemon and expand its product line in women's sportswear; the launch was originally scheduled for this spring in selected U.S. stores and online. The partnership was first announced in February. It is a key part of new CEO Elliott Hill’s strategy to revitalize the struggling company and expand its product line to compete with brands like Roger Federer-backed On and Deckers' Hoka. A spokesperson for Air Jordan maker shared the update on Wednesday, confirming the postponement of the launch of the new women's activewear line in the United States. Both parties have agreed to delay the launch in order to ensure that the product meets the high expectations of stakeholders and customers. The collection was set to include training apparel, footwear, and accessories tailored for women. Nike's collaboration with Kim Kardashian's Skims marks a significant move toward fusing performance wear with fashion and inclusivity, particularly for women.

The launch was originally scheduled for this spring, with wider distribution anticipated in 2026. Since Kim Kardashian co-founded Skims in 2019, the company has experienced significant demand for its high-end products. Investors and experts have praised Nike's collaboration with Skims, hoping it will help Nike reclaim its position in the women's activewear market.
