Violin Systems is revolutionizing how businesses operate by enabling storage technology to be Instrumental to their company by changing the SLAs and capabilities of information and application storage infrastructure. Violin extreme storage platforms, powered by Concerto OS™, a fully integrated storage operating system, is the industry leader in the combination of every significant category measured in all-flash arrays: low latency, reliability, affordability, density, scalability, and of course extreme performance. With tightly integrated data services, Violin storage platforms provide a unique and leading combination of data protection, business continuity, and data reduction services in a flexible, delivering significant CAPEX and OPEX savings.

Violin Systems is headquartered in San Jose, California. Violin Memory, founded in 2005 was acquired in 2017 by Quantum Partners LP, a private investment fund managed by Soros Fund Management LLC, fueling the emergence of new Violin Systems.

Why Violin?

Violin Systems continually sets new standards for performance storage within enterprise data center SAN environments.

Consistent Extreme Performance: Violin Systems continually sets new standards for performance storage within enterprise data center SAN environments.

Breakthrough Economics: Violin performance advantage saves customers money, with less IO, less expensive processors or fewer processors due to greater efficiency, fewer application licenses, and of course, reduced power & cooling at the rack level.

Predictive Analytics: The Violin Systems analytics engine is always learning and adjusting to changing workloads, answering management questions about LUN performance, workload, provisioning, and dedupe. And, the new mobile app allows for instant visibility into performance, efficiency, and temperature statistics.

Solutions

Online Transaction Processing: To successfully drive the business, applications such as order entry, financial transactions, and customer relationship management (CRM) as well as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and retail point of sales (POS) solutions must deliver low latency responses to myriad small queries. As a result, online transaction processing (OLTP) environments are one of the most demanding for storage. The Violin Flash Storage Platform delivers the consistent ultra-low latency and performance combined with enterprise-class scalability businesses need to make real-time decisions that sell products, deliver advertising, and optimize revenue. In addition, business-critical transaction data must be protected against any type of outage since it is the revenue engine for the enterprise. Best of all, the Violin Flash Storage Platform does all of this at the same cost as legacy enterprise disk solutions.

Big Data Analytics: Business Analytics provides a way to better understand customers, markets, and internal operations. In order to move quickly to gain competitive advantage, one needs data to be current and available. Violin delivers Big Data Analytics in a Flash at the same cost as legacy enterprise disk solutions.

Big Data Warehousing: Most organizations have created data warehouses to track history of customers, vendors, inventory, finances and many other aspects of daily operations. This resource is now being combined with outside data from social media, clickstream data from company websites, marketing data, and other information to build a more complete view of the customers, markets, and operations. Deploying data warehouse on Violin’s Flash Storage Platform means clients can achieve high service levels, support future growth, and get the most from their storage investment all at the same cost as legacy enterprise disk solutions.

Desktop Virtualization: Violin All Flash Arrays combine transformative storage economics with data protection and the benefits of virtualization to drive consolidation, performance, and cost reduction while delivering an enterprise-class user experience for virtual desktops. Whether deployment scenario is simple virtualization, private cloud or hybrid cloud, Violin enables clients to securely deliver virtual desktops while reducing operational costs by as much as 90%. HorizonView, XenDesktop or Microsoft Desktop Virtualization initiatives can now achieve their full potential, increasing the number of persistent and non-persistent desktops up to thousands of seats or more, with their existing application servers.
