“The idea of Zeptagram is very appealing to most of us working with it. It is a fast-moving landscape with a lot of promise and excitement.”

With all the excitement surrounding blockchain and token economies (tokenization) – there is a unique angle and market which receives minimal coverage—helping independent music artists unlock new financing opportunities, without having to sacrifice their ownership rights and contract rights, including control of future royalties to intermediaries and recording companies.

Token economies recognize and reward fans for coming to the stage and utilizing services. On this stage, an artist is able to sell tokens to fans directly in order to raise funds for creative projects. By leveraging and utilizing smart contracts, artists are then able to receive immediate payouts and monies generated from the song, rather than waiting months or even years to see their hard work paid off.

In light of the foregoing, we’re pleased to present Zeptagram — developer of a blockchain-based trading platform designed to democratize the music industry. The company's platform enables the community of fans and followers to invest in Music and Intellectual property rights, enabling music owners to tokenize their music rights and allows them to share the ownership with the community of followers in exchange for financial incentives.

The company was incorporated in 2014 and is headquartered in Gothenburg Sweden.

Christina Löwenström, Zeptagram Co-founder and CEO, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.

Q. Can you tell us in brief about your stock exchange for intellectual properties services?

Zeptagram is a blockchain-based trading platform where music IP-rights owners can tokenize their assets. Born in Sweden, we are getting ready to revolutionize the music industry. Zeptagram is a superfast growing trading platform based on blockchain technology. Working closely with artists and content creators all over the world, we strive to offer the most lucrative platform for investment and trading of music rights. At Zeptagram, you will find a team of highly experienced professionals who live and breathe tech, music, and finance with a global outlook. With over 50 years of combined experience from fintech, the music industry, marketing, and blockchain, we’re dedicated to delivering as per client expectations.

Q. Patents are expensive to acquire, oftentimes costing tens of thousands of dollars to prosecute. How is this different for the music community?/thesiliconreview-zeptagram-image-20

Registering music is relatively easy and cheap. The challenge is to collect the royalties connected to specific IP-rights. This is where it becomes expensive.

Our mission is to offer composers and IP-owners a fair and transparent platform where they can easily and quickly monetize new or existing songs; create a new marketplace where fans, rights buyers, and brands can partner with artists on a song-by-song basis; make it possible for IP-rights holders to easily track and collect royalties through the Blockchain; strengthen the relationship between artists and those that appreciate their music, in a meaningful way, where mutual benefits are derived.

Importantly, composers and artists have the opportunity to make a living from the fruits of their work, without unnecessary impediments that keep them from focusing on what truly matters—their music.

Q. ‘When people are having fun, they work together better and they produce better work.’ How do you interpret this saying?

The idea of Zeptagram is very appealing to most of us working with it. It is a fast-moving landscape with a lot of promise and excitement. To answer your question, yes, when people are having fun, they work together better and they produce better work. Zeptagram as a company was decentralized even before covid-19; we have built our platform with the help of Telegram, Zoom, and Skype. A normal day often starts with communicating with our team in India and ends with communicating with our partners in the US.

Q. What does the future hold for Zeptagram and its employees? Are exciting things on the way?

The music industry has gone through a fundamental change and we are all set to move forward while working towards what we promise to our clients.

“Our mission is to offer composers and IP-owners a fair and transparent platform where they can easily and quickly monetize new or existing songs.”
