Dustin Gontarski, Compass Media LLC President, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.

Why was the company started? How did you select the vertical and decide to be a part of the global platform?

Compass Media started out as a custom publishing company with a focus in tourism marketing more than 30 years ago. As the marketing landscape and the needs of our clients evolved, so too did Compass Media. We increased our services to provide a complete suite of digital marketing solutions and we now operate a fully integrated marketing company.

What kind of responses have you received from your consumers over the years? How have they motivated you to shape your offerings/grow the company?

Common complaints we got from new customers regarding their past vendors was the lack of a sound, multi-channel digital strategy, and poor customer service. We take a consultative approach to each campaign by working with our clients to ensure each tactic is measurable and aligns with their objectives.

What was the motivation for expanding your company and its offerings over the years?

Our clients. We will never stop learning and evolving as a company in order to provide the best strategies for our clients in this ever-changing landscape.

We are in the business of connecting our clients with their desired target audiences. When consumers evolved to using digital platforms over traditional media, we evolved as well.

Each time, our success and the success of our clients has been predicated on adherence to our most basic values – passion, integrity, personal relationships, perseverance, collaboration, and a desire to help share every client’s most valuable asset: their story.

How big is your organization today?

We have offices in Los Angeles, Orange County, Sacramento, Minneapolis, Detroit, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Naples, West Palm, and Gulf Shores, AL with digital and publishing divisions serving customers across all platforms nationwide.

Compass Media has established a tradition of achieving results in promoting businesses, services, and destinations through savvy digital advertising, print advertising, integrated marketing and custom publishing. Our wide range of capabilities allows us to pinpoint our client’s needs and work with them to plot the right course.

‘It is difficult to start a venture, but far more difficult to maintain it.’ How would you and your team interpret this saying?

We maintain our client relationships. We communicate proactively with them on a regular basis to discuss campaign performance. We make strategy recommendations and optimize their campaign on a daily basis to ensure the best campaign performance possible. We don’t sell ‘one-size-fits-all’ digital campaigns. Every client goal is different and we make sure we are meeting those goals with a customized strategy that fits their individual needs.

Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

We will continue to learn, roll up our sleeves, work hard and provide the best possible service for our clients.

Dustin Gontarski: A Brief Background

Dustin Gontarski is the President of Compass Media LLC. Dustin has over 20 years of experience in marketing, advertising sales, and account management. He also has 17 years of experience in sales management and business development.

Mr. Gontarski earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of West Florida.
