LynnCo Supply Chain Solutions, Inc was founded in the year 2000, but the vision for the company began years before, based on a bold idea and fueled by innovative technology.
Lynn Fritz was the first to use technology solutions to support a global network of offices that provided complete supply chain and logistics services, bringing method and consolidation to a fragmented industry. An extension of Lynn’s original vision, LynnCo has pioneered the use of big data in supply chain solutions.
With the explosion of e-commerce traversing the globe, it’s extremely relevant for companies today to have information management strategies that allow them to collect, segregate, and relate vast arrays of data in an intelligent way. Why was the company set up? How did you select the vertical and decide to be a part of the global platform?
Lynn’s vision was two-fold – seeking to pioneer one of the first fully web hosted supply chain software platforms that provided end-to-end management, visibility and analytics without the hefty capital investment in software assets and IT infrastructure. At that time, the industry only offered large, heavy and expensive ERP solutions. Secondly, he wanted to leverage web-based technology to create a boutique, high touch customer service experience through a virtual platform from one central office – effectively eliminating the complexity and cost associated with operating multiple offices all over the world in which to service customers.
Tell us about your first product that was launched?
The supply chain industry is highly fragmented with many providers offering services to manage a single function of the supply chain and oftentimes at a very tactical level. LynnCo’s vision was to take our customers beyond managing just the shipping component of the supply chain and instead offering comprehensive solutions that govern strategy, compliance, as well as tactical operations from raw materials order to finished goods delivery.
The application of technology to the supply chain strategy is a crucial component in streamlining the complex processes and decisions that occur throughout the many parties involved in the supply chain.
In response, LynnCo extended our technology footprint to what today is a proprietary supply chain ERP branded as SuiteEdgeTM. SuiteEdgeTM is a multi-module platform that manages the operating mechanics of the supply chain coupled with a metrics management platform to facilitate visibility and strategic monitoring and sits on top of state of the art business analytics platform.
What were the grounds on which you have expanded your company and its offerings over the years?
Our customers businesses are complex and their market demands high quality product and high touch service on a global scale. Visibility of every moving component within their supply chains and compliance to cost control decision points is key in order to differentiate themselves. We have found that having solutions enabled by a technology platform that easily connects varying sources, captures relevant data points, and serves it up as meaningful information has allowed our customers to navigate the complexities of demanding supply chains with a high aptitude.
If you have to list five factors that have been/are the biggest asset to your organization, what would they be and why?
Corporate wide adoption and practice of our five cultural values: Learning, Methodology, Collaboration, Accountability and Corporate Character. We have found that in order to innovate at the fast rate in which our customers and the market demands, our employees and business practices must embrace and nurture these values.
Do you have any new products ready to be/getting ready to be rolled out into the market?
LynnCo is typically an early adopter of leading technologies. Our visibility and analytics platform allows us to service our clients on a global scale very effectively and at a lower cost than most organizations. We roll out enhancements to our technology platform every year, providing our clients with innovative solutions and high touch partnerships that excels their business. We are designed to continually invent, which allows us to stay ahead of our competition and provide profound value for our clients.

Lynn Fritz is the founder of the globally renowned Fritz Company, which was the largest freight forwarder in the world with 120 offices and more than 10K employees until Lynn sold it in 2000 to UPS. He purchased LynnCo as a part of Fritz Companies and held it back from the UPS acquisition with the vision of creating an innovative supply chain firm that focused on value-add, applied technology solutions to mid-market companies with little to no capital investment. Under the guidance of LynnCo’s CEO Anisya Fritz, Ph.D., LynnCo continued to develop its supply chain management technology. Wendy Buxton was originally brought into LynnCo as the CIO and tasked with bringing Lynn’s vision to fruition and then promoted to President in order to align the business model with the company’s technology platform. Wendy has been President for the past 13 years and has been recognized as one of the industry’s top CEO’s.
