CenturyLink, Inc. an American telecommunications company has announced that it will connect its enterprise network to IBM cloud. The announcement was made public on Wednesday.
“Customers and partners in several geographies including North America, Latam, and Europe benefit from the expanded collaboration of two global, industry-leading providers with deep customer bases,” said Chris McReynolds, VP, Core Network Services, CenturyLink.
The move by CenturyLink will help IBM cloud to establish a safe, dedicated, and confidential connectivity through CenturyLink’s dedicated cloud platform, i.e. Cloud Connect.
According to CenturyLink, the private connectivity is created to provide a greater flexibility to the customers. IBM cloud’s direct link will help the customers to establish a low-latency connection across a private network on a global basis.
IBM and CenturyLink’s extended partnership has grown because of CenturyLink’s active support for IBM’s cloud managed services and business resiliency services respectively. The direct link platform will pave a way for the companies to accelerate improved network performance through the cloud via primary service providers, including CenturyLink’s expansive global network.
The support for IBM and cloud direct link is now available in different prime locations in North America, South America, and Europe.
“CenturyLink Cloud Connect now gives partners the ability to provide their customers with a much broader selection of locations, bandwidth speeds, and deployment models to support their IBM Cloud workloads,” added Mr. McReynolds.
Cloud Connect offerings will allow different cloud environments of various organizations to connect themselves with data-center and cloud providers worldwide over private and secure networks.
