Despite the failure of Russian rocket ‘Soyuz’, NASA still plans to launch it in December

Although Soyuz is a reliable rocket, its recent failure during a space mission to the International Space Station came out as shocking news to the space scientists. Even though the rocket failure is horrifying news, NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine said in a statement that he plans to launch a new crew in December via Soyuz anyway.

The malfunctioning of the rocket didn’t cause any loss of life as the escape system was efficient enough to function as per the instructions. Astronaut Nick Hague and cosmonaut Aleksey Ovchinin landed safely as the parachute was deployed successfully. Although the investigation is going on, it is too early to tell what went wrong.

Reportedly,Bridenstine is in favor to launch the rocket again with a new crewed capsule as he has enough confidence in the Soyuz system and the team at Roscosmos. “Not every mission that fails ends up so successful,” he said in support of Soyuz. “Iexpect that we will fly again on a Soyuz rocket and I have no reason to believe at this point that it will not be on schedule,” he said. The Soyuz system is an only option available that sends human beings to space. Companies like SpaceX and Boeing are coming up with similar systems but they still have to come a long way.

Bridenstine’s confidence is not enough to launch the rocket again. The investigation of the failure continues and time will only tell whether or not Soyuzwill reachspaceagain.
