PepsiCo Goes For Second Year of Its Brand Incubator Programme
The Silicon Review
16 May, 2018

PepsiCo yesterday announced the 2nd year of its Nutrition Greenhouse incubator programme. Issuing an open call for entrepreneurs to apply, the American multinational Food, Snack, and Beverage Company is going to choose 10 emerging brands in the nutrition vertical and whose products are aimed at European consumers.

With an initial funding of €20,000, the selected brands will get the chance to work alongside some of the industry experts of PepsiCo’s leading brands such as Quaker, Alvalle, Sunbites, and Tropicana. In addition to the initial funding, each of the entrepreneurs will be benefited with a six-month mentorship programme with some of PepsiCo’s well-known executives. And at the end of the programme, the winning company will be awarded a prize amount of €100,000 to continue its expansion.

First launched in 2017, the initiative has seen 8 companies achieving a significant growth of over €10 million – a fourfold increase in sales over its duration. The brands that were selected last year include makers of insect snacks, seaweed protein, and Nordic birch water.

“We are delighted to be returning with our Nutrition Greenhouse programme for a second year. Our overarching goal remains the same – to partner with the best and brightest food and beverage entrepreneurs in Europe and give them the opportunity to bring their products to the world on a global scale,” says Juan Ignacio Amat, vice president of nutrition for PepsiCo Western Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.
