Now people can balance tech and life: Apple to roll out a new digital health feature in iOS 12

Now people can balance tech and life: Apple to roll out a new digital health feature in iOS 12
The Silicon Review
02 June, 2018

According to reports, Apple Inc. has announced to release a new set of digital health features for iOS users earlier this week at the Worldwide Developer Conference in San Jose. With the new release, iOS 12 operating system for iPhone and Ipad devices will be upgraded with a digital well-being feature, which will arrive in the fall.

With the “Digital health” feature, users will be able to track down the time spent on the devices and inside individual apps. It’s still unclear whether  the feature  will include tools which can help users keep their smartphones on silent mode or disengage them from their devices by using new gestures or settings.

The new initiative towards wellbeing movement by Apple is a part of a fairly recent course correction for Silicon Valley tech firms in relation to the addictive nature of devices and apps that have been created by them.

iOS 12 along with the new app will likely be released to consumers in September, just a few weeks after Android P will be released to Google pixel smartphones and other devices. Surprisingly, in the very same year, both Google and Apple will have the similar health apps in their Smartphones, trying to help consumers strike a healthier balance between gadgets and life.
