Juniper Networks Releases Next-gen Routing Platform
The Silicon Review
13 June, 2018

Leveraging its vast experience with leading global cloud and service providers, Juniper Networks, the Sunnyvale-based Multinational Corporation, has unveiled its 5 G- and IoT-Ready Routing Platforms to Unlock Service-Creation opportunities. The announcement was made public on Tuesday.

“Cloud is eating the world, 5G is ramping up, IoT is presenting a host of new challenges and security teams simply can’t keep up with the sheer volume of cyber attacks on today’s network. One thing service providers should not have to worry about among all this is the unknown of what lies ahead,” said Manoj Leelanivas, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer, Juniper Networks.

The MX series 5G universal routing platform is the industry’s only platform which will provide near infinite programmability, cost efficiency and versatility with a performance at scale to the cloud. The platform is embedded with a series of new software that will deliver flexibility, rapid performance and programmability for a seamless service deployment in the cloud, today and for the future as well.

According to Juniper Networks, MX series 5G will target different complex networks operated by service providers across different regions. And it will host resource-intensive applications such as 5G and secure SD-WAN-based managed services.

At the heart of the MX Series 5G Platform is the new Juniper Penta Silicon, MX 5G Control User-Plane Separation (CUPS) Hardware Acceleration and MX10008 and MX10016 Universal Chassis.
