08 August, 2018

Fossil, the American watch manufacturer has introduced a series of smartwatches, which operates on Google wear OS. The new introduction is the company’s fourth generation of smartwatches which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 chipset.

“Since our entry to the smartwatch market, it has always been our first priority to be nimble and adapt quickly to innovations-both in technology and design,” said Steve Evans, EVP, Fossil.

Dubbed as Q Venture HR and Q explorist HR, both the devices will be compatible with iOS 9.3 and up and Android 4.4 and above. The smartwatches are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC and will run on Google Wear Operating System.

According to Fossil, the company has used new technology to add sophisticated features like heart tracking, Bluetooth, NFC, swim-proof functionality, and untethered GPS. The battery is powered by an optimization feature which will provide backup for a full day on a single charge. The devices are integrated with Google Fit, wireless syncing, magnetic charging, interchangeable straps, and a touchscreen.

The outlook of the watches is very striking as they are incorporated with 36 exclusive dials. And the users will also be able to share photos in the social media and also use the photos as the watch background. The price of both the watches ranges from $255 to $275. Worldwide Shipping of the product will be available from the last week of August.

“This new generation of smartwatches will provide consumers with one device that fits all of their needs,” added Mr. Evans.
