Every year at CES, companies showcase their new innovations based on AI and VR. But these items don’t always live upto the hype. But this Taiwanese software company, Cyberlink targets to change that.

At this year’s CES, Cyberlink focused more on AI and facial recognition technology rather than different creative tools, as they launched FaceMe technology, a facial recognition technology.

What is FaceMe?

It is an AI-enabled facial recognition engine which comes with a software development kit. The new software enables solution providers to combine facial attribute detection and precise facial recognition with the application. FaceMe works with operating systems like Android, Linux, Windows and iOS under multiple hardware configurations. As per the company, the software’s recognition rate is almost 98%.

Facial recognition has become an old tech to catch big criminals. But the company have faith in its new AI-based facial recognition software as it will continue to develop within time and would be used more often by users in their daily life in roles such as door management. For example, nowadays in workplaces, most of the doors are secured with a badge or passkeys. With the help of the new software, these passwords can be removed.

The new AI-based software can be also used by retailers in analyzing sales reports and carrying out marketing. For example, the software can create a profile based on the shopping habits in any type of retail shop; it may be a clothing store or any other store.
