IBM introduces new Data prep tool to Boost DataOps
The Silicon Review
02 July, 2019

IBM has unveiled a new Data Prep tool to boost DataOps operations for its clients. The new tool will enhance the DataOps process for the clients; allowing them to make the data AI ready in an efficient manner.

The tool, dubbed as InfoSphere Advanced Data Preparation, will transform raw datasets of the clients with the help of techniques such as structuring, formatting and enriching the datasets. It will help the clients to carry out processing and standard reporting.

IBM joined hands with Trifacta, software for data prep for the new tool. The tool will help the companies to work together with their client’s existing data environments including data lakes.

The features of the tools are very good. The instinctive dashboard has the potential to visualize data prep process followed by boosting the monitoring process for data quality and lineage. The tool allows clients to move their datasets to the business analytics tool of their choice.

The tool will reside on a client’s data lake or data warehouse.

There is a self-service interface in the tool. It will allow data scientists, business users to explore, make and improve datasets for analytics. Additionally, the tool will allow users of all levels of technical expertise to produce data insights which are business-ready.

The new innovation by IBM is very important for them because majority of the data scientists spend their time in the data preparation process, which is very cumbersome. The new tool does the same job in less time.
