Adtran welcomes final Build America, Buy America ruling and stands prepared

Adtran has announced its preparedness to back the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program, expressing appreciation for the clarity and guidance offered by the Build America, Buy America (BABA) rule. With a commitment to US-based manufacturing spanning thirty years, Adtran stands as a leader in the market, equipped with BABA-compliant fiber access solutions ready to bolster nationwide connectivity, economic growth, and digital inclusivity across American communities. With an allocation of $42.5 billion for grants, the BEAD program aims to connect millions of underserved homes in the USA to high-speed broadband, emphasizing the use of domestically produced equipment.

Adtran plans to supply BABA-compliant optical line terminals (OLTs), cabinets, ONTs, and pluggable optics, providing a holistic solution tailored to the BEAD program's specifications. These remedies will shortly be featured on the NTIA certification website. Adtran's General Manager of Software Platforms and Strategy, Robert Conger, stressed the company's willingness to align its solutions with federal regulations to assist the BEAD program's aim of closing America's digital divide. With more than 30 years of manufacturing expertise in Huntsville, Alabama, Adtran is positioned to meet the stringent criteria for BABA-compliant technology, positioning itself as a crucial player in the BEAD program's mission. By advancing equitable broadband access, BEAD is poised to promote economic growth, support education and telehealth, foster innovation, and create job opportunities for millions of Americans.
