Walking With Dinosaurs Launches Fun Educational Experience for Kids

Lingokids and BBC Earth partner to teach kids about the era of dinosaurs through fun and interactive learning content.

The "Walking With Dinosaurs" Learning Adventure marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between Lingokids and BBC Earth to develop an engaging, educational experience meant for young children. To learn about the dinosaur era, the lesson takes children on a journey that combines interactive teaching, hands-on games, and fun challenges.

In partnership with the VFX studio, the Science Unit at BBC Studios produced a six-part series. 791 special effects and animation shots were created by the studio, including 21 different kinds of dinosaurs and detailed environments. The Lingokids Dinosaur Lesson was released just before the new series premiered on PBS on June 16. This lesson helps the children to explore topics like how dinosaurs lived, what they ate, where they lived, how they went extinct, and how fossils are formed. Without a shadow of a doubt, dinosaurs captivate children, and they love these species. From a study conducted by Lingokids in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire, the team identified that kids learn more effectively and quickly while they are entertained, said Cristóbal Viedma, founder and CEO of Lingokids. He also added that the collaboration with BBC Earth makes that concept a reality in a fun and engaging way to maintain the curiosity of the children while learning.

Together, the companies are giving an opportunity for the families to continue learning about their favorite prehistoric creatures even after the show is over. Monica Hayes, VP of Content Marketing at BBC Studios, stated, "We know families will want to watch Walking With Dinosaurs together because of the popularity of dinosaurs among younger audiences.” She added, “Through the lesson, they expect to inspire the next generation of paleontologists.
