No two file sharing systems anymore as Google and Samsung joined hands

Google has finally made it all official. Google’s Nearby Share merged with Samsung’s Quick Share. This merger has rapidly become the default file-sharing system for most Android devices, including phones and tabs, and also for all devices using Chrome OS. The rumors and news began when Google mentioned changing up a few antics of Nearby Share during the currently happening CES 2024 Expo in Las Vegas, USA. The newer version of the Quick-Share filing system will be used on all Android and Chrome OS devices from now on. This exciting new upgrade also comes with a brand-new logo design. Google says that this version will be out in the world around next month.

Google also mentioned that the new merged version has the best of both worlds, that is, the top features of Nearby Share and Quick Share. This will ensure hassle-free and faster sharing of documents, files, images, text, videos, and many more forms of media between Android and Chrome OS devices. Google is also looking at an upgrade to Nearby Share for Windows so that sharing files with computers using Windows 10 or 11 will be easier. The company also announced a partnership with LG in the spirit of pre-installing Quick Share on its PCs and laptops. This will enable future laptops from LG to see which nearby devices have access to Quick Share.
