Getty Images comes up with another GenAI service for its iStock consumers

The famous stock media organization, Getty Images, made its newest service public at CES 2024. The service mainly trades out the AI models trained on Getty’s iStock stock photography and video libraries to produce new licensed images and artwork. The service, however, called Generative AI by iStock, is powered by Nvidia. Getty mentioned that the service has been launched to stand guard against generations of familiar products, people, places, or any other copyrighted elements. GenAI is up for grabs in 75 languages. One of its outstanding features is its ability to modify images and also generate new ones and integrate with existing apps and plug-ins via an API. The cost for the curated images is 15 dollars per 100 images.

Grant Farhall, iStock’s chief product officer, mentioned in a press conference that the main motive behind the new GenAI by iStock is to give its consumers an easy and budget-friendly choice to use AI in their own creative processes. Farhall proceeded to say that this latest launch will decrease the customer’s worry about legally protected data making its way into this individual’s work. This launch has created more buzz than ever and managed to ruffle a few feathers here and there too. Generative AI by iStock is Getty’s second AI tool so far.
