FBI Obtains 2020 Arizona GOP E...A federal grand jury subpoenaed records from Arizona Republicans' 2020 election review the same review that ultimately confirmed Joe Biden's win and found no evidence of fraud.
The FBI has obtained records from the Arizona Senate Republicans' controversial 2020 election review after a federal grand jury issued a subpoena for materials related to the investigation. The review, conducted by the firm Cyber Ninjas and released in September 2021, ultimately confirmed that Joe Biden won Arizona the same conclusion it was designed to challenge.
The subpoena, issued in recent weeks, seeks documents related to how the review was conducted, who funded it, and how election equipment and data were handled. Multiple individuals connected to the review have received grand jury appearance notices, according to sources familiar with the investigation.
The Arizona Senate contracted Cyber Ninjas and other outside firms to audit Maricopa County's 2020 election results following repeated false claims of fraud by then-President Trump and his allies. The review cost taxpayers over $150,000 and was funded largely by Trump-aligned groups.
The final report found no evidence of fraud and confirmed Biden's victory, though Cyber Ninjas' CEO used the review to promote election conspiracy theories. Maricopa County officials had refused to cooperate, calling the process a "sham."
The federal investigation is believed to focus on whether anyone involved in the review improperly accessed or tampered with voting equipment a potential federal crime. Similar investigations have occurred in other states where Trump allies conducted unofficial election reviews.
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes declined to comment on the subpoena. Representatives for Cyber Ninjas and the Arizona Senate did not respond to requests for comment.
